USA vs Canada: allies in war and enemies when it comes to trade? How does this work?

 

Twice, when Donald Trump campaigned the motto was "Make America great again.". The obvious questions should have been how and at what cost?

On the one hand, President Trump stated that he wanted NATO countries to pay more for their Defense but, on the other hand, he set out to make things extremely difficult by waging trade wars against USA allies. Not only that. Military actions undertaken by the USA have made extremely difficult for USA allies to have access to energy at affordable prices. In fact, with few exceptions, energy costs  had led to borrowing at increasingly high levels. We still do not know how is President Trump going to make America great again, but we do know that even for the USA things are reaching critical levels.

One particular angle that has not gone amiss is the fact the the USA military, regardless of all expressions of optimism, are not going through a brilliant time in their lives. Sailors have being going through very bad circumstances. When you hear about low morale leading to suicide attempts, somebody has to listen. When you hear about ships that malfunction while loaded with deadly weapons, somebody has to listen. Words like Fantastic and Fabulous do not cut any ice. When you hear that a major superpower has to stop military operations because it is running out of ammunition, somebody has to listen. Reality calls. If USA cannot win when fighting a country that is a little better than Iraq, somebody has to listen and somebody is both looking and listening.

The mutual protection alliance between Pakistan (a nuclear power), Turkey (a military power) and Saudi Arabia (an energy power) - all Muslim countries - did not come out of nowhere. Those who were under the protection of the USA are now wondering if the life insurance they were sold is actually going to protect them. Israel is closely associated to India as Modi´s India provides Israel with a substantial amount of military hardware. Middle East is starting to look like 1914´s Europe. Prime Minister Netanyahu has stated very clearly that Israel will attack anybody that Israel sees as a threat. Regional countries are taking notice. Oman, usually a middleman between USA and Iran has been threatened by the USA. President Trump has made explicit threats to Oman. So how many Middle-Eastern countries still see the USA as a protector? Many no longer see USA as an allie and are rushing to maker their own arrangements.

Turkey is supposed to be a NATO country, but its alliances with countries outside NATO tell a different story. The moment of truth will come when NATO countries will have to make hard choices and it will come the time when NATO membership will be a hindrance.

France is burning as a consequence of uncontrolled migration and failed integration and Britain will follow next.

There goes the saying: when you see the beard of your neighbor on fire, put your beard inside a bucket of water.

It is like the forest fires in Canada. It comes the point when there is no use to try and stop them and huge areas will be consumed by fire.

This is the direct consequence of left-wing open-door policies and multiculturalism. Multicuralism is about creating ghettos. Multiculturalism is a kind of dangerous mental disease. Regardless of race, people should have been able to build a common identity to be able to live in pease. Instead, divisive Multiculturalism lead to riots and war. Britain is full of ghettos, but is still in much better shape than France when it comes to integration. Unfortuntely, Left-wing ideology promotes war by dividing society, constantly promoting gender wars, race wars and class wars.

CJ Ujah, the British sprinter who won a silver medal as part of the men’s 4x100m relay team at the Tokyo Olympics, has been suspended for an alleged breach of anti-doping rules.

Ujah, 27, was part of the British team who were pipped to gold by Italy, alongside Zharnel Hughes, Richard Kilty and Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake. Their silver medals are now at risk and, if the ban is upheld, Canada could be upgraded to silver with China receiving bronze.

Ujah tested positive during the Games for two banned substances known as Sarms (Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators): S23, which aids muscle building, and Ostarine, an anabolic agent.

What happened to cleanliness in sports? 

If one of them falls, the entire team falls and medals go somewhere else. Not a nice end in Olympic Games where politics played a huge role.

In ten days time, Britain will be on its way to be as it was before entering the Common Market. Will it be like it was before entering the Common Market?

So much has happened in more than 40 years. There has been a demographic revolution and London - its capital city - is completely unrecognizable. The Monarchy itself is unrecognizable. We have had Harry-exit. Diana's boy is now in Canada, without a Royal title. SNP seems to rule Scotland and is threatening to break up the United Kingdom. Let us remember another earthquake that happened in the United Kingdom in the 1920, the partition of Ireland and the creation of two separate entities - the Republic of Ireland in the south and the Province of Northern Ireland in the north. A hundred years later, we are witnessing events that have generated realities that we couldn't possibly have imagined thirty years ago.

But when it comes to surprising changes, Britain is not alone. The European Continent is on the move and significant political developments are taking place.

Germany is also unrecognizable. CDU/CSU is faltering and Alternative für Deutchland and Grünen are rising stars. In France, Emannuel Macron - the opportunity candidate that rose to power as to prevent National Front (Now National Rally) from winning the French Presidential Election is facing war as discontent rises. As the Socialists were on the way out, the French Centre Right faced the unthinkable and had to create a fantasy on the back of a massive propaganda effort.

Brexit is not the main issue, Europe is facing. Much more serious developments are on the way. Unfortunately, and perhaps in a premeditated manner, the mass media have their own agenda and they don't report about certain events to the point that when something dramatic happens it seems to have come from nowhere.

In the 1930, Prince Edward could not marry Wallis Simpson because she was a divorcee. After that, Princess Margaret was not allowed to marry the man she very much loved - an ace of the Royal Air Force who served with distinction because his wife had left him (he became a divorcee due to no fault of his own). 

These were the precedents, but year later Prince Charles who had been a lover of Camila Parker Bowles was allowed to marry Camila Parker Bowles and suddenly divorce was no longer an issue. 

There had not been an issue either when it came to public morality that the Lord Mountbatten was married and slept with young boys while his wife slept around with men including foreign dignataries. 

But somehow in the eyes of the mandarins of mass media Harry and Meghan have committed a mortal sin by wanting to live their own lives in their own way. They are poisoning the minds of members of the public in the same way that they killed Princess Diana - Harry's mother.  They are at it again. The prostitutes that like to call themselves Defenders of Free Speech are no better than an organised Mafia making an awful amount of money by means of fabricated scandals.

I was one of those who criticised US involvement in Syria that I saw as counterproductive because it meant an illegal intervention in the sovereign territory of another country that would also delay the resolution of a very bloody conflict. Supporting rebels and targeting government forces that were trying to restore control could only benefit Islamic State-linked guerrillas.

The news that the US is reducing or ceasing its operations in Syria is welcomed news because it allows the administration to focus on vital issues. 

North Korea had been a constant concern. The increasing number of missile launches with rockets that reached as far as Japan was a major issue that had to be resolved. President Trump not only managed to persuade North Korea to stop missile launches. It also managed to open the way to create goodwill between the two sides in the conflict in the Korean Peninsula and cancelled a vast expenditure item in the US Defence budget by getting rid of annual military exercises in the region.

The building of a wall to prevent illegal immigration is a fundamental step in terms of National Security. Legal immigration is allowed but the closing of gates that allow regular passage of illegals and drugs is an absolute necessity. In a budget measured in trillions of Dollars, 5 billion Dollars is just peanuts to deal with a very serious problem.

I might disagree with other items of US Foreign Policy, but I totally agree and I fully support measures to support a peaceful way in the Korean Peninsula, a reduction of US intervention in Syria and the construction of the wall for very valid reasons including National Security. Illegal immigration, drugs and other forms of criminality associated with drugs are extremely serious matters.

President Donald Trump is not closed for business. Quite the opposite. He hasn't closed the door to other countries in the Americas. A new deal with Mexico and Canada will be beneficial for all those involved. Asking for fairness is not extreme. 

With regards to Britain, the EU and the relationship with the USA, it is fair to say that taxes applied on US imports are absolutely unfair. Why should an American car be taxed more than an EU made car? Many in the EU talk against protectionism when the EU is nothing more than a gigantic protectionist block that not only damages the US economy but also the economies of many Developing Countries. The anomaly is such that Britain is applying EU Tariffs on products that Britain needs and doesn't produce. Asking for fairness, once again, is not extreme.
