Naga Munchetty is part of a culture that has taken over the BBC, of presenters and journalists that believe that they can use the BBC to promote their own political agendas. 

Personally, I don't believe that people should be forced to pay the TV License to subsidize a propaganda machine.

The role of the BBC is to ask questions, to investigate and to present facts for its audience to form their own judgment about what is happening around the world. The BBC role is not to make political. statements.

Individuals like Kay Burley can get away with making political statements and showing extraordinary bias because she works for a private broadcaster. Whether shareholders of Sky News think that it is good idea to allow Kay Burley to behave the way she behaves destroying Sky News reputation in terms of impartiality is another matter. Channel Four, another public broadcaster, is not far behind in terms of bias and lack of impartiatlity. On this day and age when 75% of the population no longer trusts Parliament, the mass media have little credibility left. We must add now the Judiciary that is seen as party political. 

We are confronting a crisis of widespread lack of trust. Drastic action must now be taken to try to rescue British institutions and the credibility of mass media. Parliamentarians complain about rising anger that is leading to violence against MPs. Well, Sky News share huge responsibility for the creation of political instability. Constant demonising of political personalities and political organisations has formented political instability. Kay Burley has an issue with Nigel. Farage and she is not only outspoken on Sky News and other programmes but also on social media. Reporting is not just reporting. It has become poisonous, biased and potentially dangerous reporting because it fuel.tensions. She couldn't hide her delight and celebratory mood witnessing what she thought was the misfortunes of the British Prime Minister and of the Conservative Party.

Jeremy Corbyn has publicly stated that he wants a General Election because he believes that the embattled Labour Party under his leadership has a clear opportunity to take over the reins of Britain and Conservatives like Philip Hammond, Dominic Grieve and Rory Stewart are more than willing to destroy a Conservative government and open the way for a government led by Jeremy Corbyn.

Will the European Union openly support such possibility in spite of the obvious ideological differences and geopolitical repercussions? We are talking about major issues that include Britain's relationship with Iran, Saudi Arabia, Israel and, fundamentally, Britain's relationship with the USA and NATO.

And what about the unity of the United Kingdom? Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell openly supported the IRA and the unification of Ireland. The latter has been criticised for having in his constituency office images about the 'martyrs of the IRA'. 

Under Tony Blair, there was talk about nationalisation but it was just talk. Under a Labour government led by Jeremy Corbyn with John McDonnell as Chancellor of the Exchequer, talk will become certainty.

Getting Brexit right, given the threats posed by a Labour government led by Jeremy Corbyn, becomes much more of a priority. The newly elected Lib Dem Leader did well to distance herself from a potential alliance with the present Labour Party. There is always the Law of unintended consequences. If the Remain Camp seeks to destroy a Conservative government, the Remain Camp will unleash forces that they will not be able to control

July 4th 1776 - Declaration of Independence. Such date is not only important for what is today the United States of America. It simbolizes the ultimate history lesson: if you want rights, you have to be willing to wage war to get what you want.

Britain is at a crossroads. We can talk about rights over and over again but in order to have rights you have to be willing to put your life in harm's way. 

When you hear talk about politicians ignoring the outcome of the 2016 Referendum on European Union Membership, you understand very clearly that there are those willing to overule the popular decision. The question is: what are you willing to do to force them to respect the outcome of the Referendum?

This is a July 4th moment. Make no mistake about it. This is the moment when what you are willing to do matters. In 1776, people knew that there was going to be war. In 1776, people knew that losing was not an option and that many of them would have to give their lives to achieve the desired aim.

Adolf Hitler said that when war begins there are no civilians. Having fought in the trenches, he knew that in each conflict there are at least two sides and there is no disctinction between civilian and military. When German bombs fell on British cities and when Allied bombs fell on German cities, the message was very clear. The bombs would not tell the difference between civilians and military. The only issue was who was going to be alive when the bombing stopped.

The Liberal Democrats and their allies that include some in the Conservative camp have openly said that they don't recognize the outcome of the Referendum and have therefore classed themselves as the Enemy that needs to be defeated by those in the Leave camp.

At this  point in time, there is no Labour Party and no Conservative Party. There are two parties: Leave and Remain. This has all the characteristics of a Civil War and in a Civil War there will be casualties.

The way things are going, this could be a real possibility. For the Leader of Her Majesty's Opposition to boycott the visit of the President of the United States of America is a very serious matter. Direct attacks like the ones launched by Emily Thornberry against President Trump and none other than the Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow is no laughing matter. We are talking about very serious issues involved the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and the emphasis on foreign policy.

This is not merely an issue of liking or not liking President Donald Trump. This is about the British Nuclear Deterrent and the whole Defence Strategy in Europe. One has to think that Emmanuel Macron's rush to lead the way towards the establishment of EU Armed Forces and an Independent EU Foreign Policy has a lot to do with the concerns generated by Jeremy Corbyn's ideological stances.

While the attention is focused on Brexit, President Trump's visit to the United Kingdom is undoubtedly about reassurances regarding Britain's position facing the possibility of Jeremy Corbyn becoming Prime Minister. It is expected that a new Conservative Prime Minister will be in place by mid-year and a clear cut solution will be found to prevent the rise of Jeremy Corbyn. 

The Labour Party's Leadership is again under fire and the rise of both the Lib Dems on the Remain side and of the Brexit Party on the Leave side must have given some hope to the American Administration. President Trump has used warm words to describe his rapport with Boris Johnson as a potential Prime Minister and with Nigel Farage as Leader of the Brexit Party. 

Alastair Campbell has expressed the view that without a clear definition the Labour Party would be doomed in a General Election. Much has been said about Chancellor Philip Hammond talking about bringing down the Conservative government in case of No Deal but do those oppose to Jeremy Corbyn really want the Labour Party to win knowing that Jeremy Corbyn would be the next Primer Minister.

A very advantageous Trade Agreement between the USA and Britain would favour a No Deal option and could prevent the rise of Jeremy Corbyn. A No Confidence Vote against the Conservative government would be a geopolitical disaster.

What are the rights of Parliament and what are the rights of private citizens with regards to Parliament?

The issue came to the fore today when during a Privileges Motion Debate the matter was discussed that a private citizen when invited to attend a hearing of a Select Committee could find himself declared to be in contempt if he or she either refuses to answer questions or simply refuses to attend.


At the moment, Parliament can issue an admonition - criticising or condemning the refusal to answer questions or to attend such hearings. But there is a vested interest to go a lot farther than that and there is a suggestion that punitive measures could be adopted that could even involve the Judiciary.
The vested interest is that in this particular case we are talking about Brexit and that those who are directly opposed to Brexit would undoubtedly seek to demonise, misrepresent or damage the interests or persona of the individual they declare to be in contempt of Parliament.

There is such animosity that this particular situation could be used to transform the Legislative into Judge, Jury and Executioner of a private individual, animosity that could lead to the introduction of legal measures that could be detrimental for individual basic rights.

Whether people respect Parliament or don't respect Parliament, whether people like Parliament or dislike Parliament is not something that should be made into Law when it comes to political decisions taken by Parliament.

Quite a few people very much dislike the present Parliament and say so openly. Quite a few people don't trust Parliament and say so openly. Are they in contempt of Parliament? If somebody doesn't want to allow himself or herself to be used by Parliament in a way that is detrimental for the rights of the individual, is the individual entitled to protect his or her rights? Of will the individual become a hostage of Parliament and forced to act against himself or herself?

As it was well noted, in the United States of America citizens are entitled to refuse to answer because answers that they might provide would incriminate them. Are political interest being put before the right of the individual? Is Parliament trying to become a sort of Inquisition?

We haven't seen the legislation proposed because it was suggested that Members of Parliament involved in the promotion of punitive measures should think very carefully about what punitive measures would be proposed.

At the moment, there is no legal obligation to attend any committee hearings. Attendance is voluntary and so is the process of answering questions. Having said that, if somebody were to give evidence or answer questions under Oath there are legal implications including charges for Perjury if somebody were to state or declare or answer questions untruthfully.

The case involving Parliament and Dominic Cummings is not merely about respecting or not respecting Parliament. This is a political issue and especially when Parliament doesn't seem to come together to decide on very important matters. When we are in principle less than two weeks away from exiting the European Union, to bring such a case for consideration on the floor of the House of Commons is, as stated before, far from being merely a legal matter. This is a clear and self-evident process pushed forward with a visible political intention.

What the surveys indicate it is not just Parliament that is divided. The gap between positions involving Leave and Remain is growing. The centre is disappearing and polarisation is growing reaching dangerous levels.

Until now, Members of Parliament on both sides of the argument have complained that they are being targeted by those that hate their stances regarding Brexit. A SNP MP stated that he is afraid for his personal safety. Anne Soubry MP stated that she is afraid of going home. Others stated that they are not walking around but driven in cars in spite of short distances. This is not just about vocal threats. This is about real life threatening threats. It is difficult not to appreciate that the number of armed Police officers deployed in and around the Houses of Parliament is growing. 

As I was walking nearby the Houses of Parliament I look at the memorial plate of a Police Officer killed by a crazed fanatic Muslim convert. The dangers Members of Parliament face when dealing with Brexit are much greater. What happened to Jo Cox is just the tip of the iceberg. More and more people dislike politicians and despise Members of Parliament that they no longer trust. This is much more than the expenses scandal. It is much bigger than the sexual harassment scandal that has divided Members of Parliament. 

The Brexit Process is reviving British Nationalism and also English Nationalism and there are plenty of those around who would take matters into their own hands as Parliament is seen as going against the will of the people expressed in the EU Referendum.

The Prime Minister has stated that she will not accept any decision by Parliament that goes against Brexit. Theresa May carefully tries to avoid another European Parliament Election for very good reasons. If there is an extension that goes much beyond May 23rd 2019, Britain will have to take part in European Elections and UKIP and others are ready for it. The backlash against parties represented in Parliament will lead to a vast number of seats of the so called Far Right in the European Parliament that added to the number of seats that it is foreseen similar political parties will gain in May 2019 will turn the European Parliament into a gigantic nightmare for the Establishment. Getting seats in the European Parliament will strengthen British Nationalists beyond everything that they have been able to achieve until now at a time when support for both Labour and Conservatives is at an all time low.

Cancelling Brexit, Parliament will unleash forces that have until now being kept under check. Words like 'Traitor' and 'Nazi' are now being used against those called Remainers and anger is growing. This could be the last drop of patience after a long list of scandals, failures and deceit.
