British Ministry of Defense and the Black Sea chapter: I smell a rat

 

When the British Ministry of Defense itself is involving in leaking documents you know this is about circus and propaganda.

The report says: Classified defense documents containing details about HMS Defender and the military have been found at a bus stop, prompting an investigation from the Ministry of Defense (MoD).

So the Ministry of Defense places classified defense documents containing details about HMS Defender at a bus stop in Kent to ensure that they papers were found by a member of the public and when the documents are unavoidably found the Ministry of Defense starts an investigation about how this could be possible. It could not be more theatrical than that.

El Ministerio de Defensa colocó documentos de defensa secretos conteniendo detalles sobre HMS Defender en una parada de autobus en Kent para asegurarse de que los papeles fueron hallados por un miembro del público y cuando inevitablemente los documents son hallados el Ministerio de Defensa inicia una investigación sobre cómo esto pudo ser posible. No podría ser más teatral. 

Immediately, the Labour Party reacts as it was scripted that they Labour Party would immediately react and 'describes the loss of the sensitive information as embarrassing as it is worrying for ministers who are seeking reassurances that national security has not been undermined.'

So what was it about? The papers included one set of documents that discussed the potential Russian reaction to HMS Defender's travel through waters off the Crimea coast on Wednesday, while another paper laid out plans for a possible military presence in Afghanistan. Adding the Afghanistan bit to make it more credible.

A member of the public who wanted to remain anonymus (i.e. a member of the Ministry of Defense) contacted the Ministry of Defense when the 50 pages of classified information which included emails and PowerPoint presentation was found. Surely, a credit to Microsoft designer of PowerPoint because it shows how useful PowerPoint software is that even the British Ministry of Defense is using it for its classified documents.

The mission was described by MoD as 'an innocent passage through territorial waters' with guns covered and the ship's helicopter stowed in its hangar. It says that it was done with the expection that the Kremlin would react aggressively.

The report says that a series of slides showed two alternative routes, one described as 'a safe and professional direct transit from Odessa to Batumi', including a short stretch through a maritime traffic management system, known as TSS, close to the south-west tip of Crimea.

El informe dice que una serie de imágenes muestran dos rutas alternativas. Una de las rutas es descrita como 'tránsito profesional directo y seguro entre Odessa y Batumi', incluyendo un trecho corto a través del sistema de gestión de tráfico marítimo conocido como TSS, cerca del extremo suroccidental de Crimea.

The Labour Party as part of this comedy has to say via John Healey (Labour's shadow Defense Secretary) that an internal inquiry carried out immediately should establish how highly classified documents were taken out of the department in the first place and then left.

El Partido Laborista como parte de esta comedia tenía que decir mediante John Heley (que ocupa la posición de Ministro de Defensa en la Oposición) que una investigación interna urgente debería determina cómo documentos muy secretos fueron sacados de una oficina y dejados en la vía pública.

It must be said that national security was never compromised. This is a circus organised by the Ministry of Defense with full knowledge of the Labour Party and of 10 Downing Street. No classified documents of such nature would ever place near a bus top so that anybody passing by would find them.

They were placed on purpose near a bus stop in full view of members of the public or possibly it was never placed anywhere near a bus stop. They had to improvise a version of events to make the report about the loss documents more colourful to attract as much mass media attention as possible.

Fueron colocados de manera deliberada cerca de la parada de autobus de manera visible para cualquier miembro del público o posiblemente nunca fueron colocados cerca de una parada de autobus. Tuvieron que improvisar una versión de lo ocurrido para hacer que el informe sobre los documentos perdidos fuera más atractivo para atrar tanta atención de los medios como fuera posible.

From the start the intention was to provoke a Russian response knowing full well that the British warship would be entering territorial waters violating the 12 miles limit.

For many years, Britain supported the idea of the 12 miles limit when other countries stated that the limit should be 200 miles as part of the denominated 'exclusive economic zone'.

The so called 'innocent passage' was never meant to be an 'innocent passage'. It was a premediated provocation seeking a military response with political aims. 

El llamado 'paso inocente' no era la intención. Fue provocación deliberada tratando de provocar una respuesta miliar con fines políticos.

United Britain: the task ahead

After Brexit, the task is to reinforce the unity of the United Kingdom by putting in place policies that show regions of the United Kingdom - apart from the Southeast - that they do matter.

The rise of the SNP didn't happen overnight. Firstly, the Conservatives lost Scotland in 1997. After that, Labour and Liberal Democrats lost Scotland. But then Scotland was not alone. North/South Divide is a reality and then we reach Northern Ireland that has been treated as the poor cousin.

London/Southeast centric United Kingdom cannot go on. Unless the new Conservative government manages to do something extraordinary to create opportunities for all,  

When Boris Johnson suggested the construciton of a bridge to unite Northern Ireland and the UK mainland, many jumped in to criticize the British Prime Minister.Well, soonafter Crime rejoined the Russian Federation, the Russian President Vladimir Putin embarked on the construction of a bridge to join Crime and the mainland of the Russian Federation. The construction of a bridge would send a direct message to every nation of the United Kingdom and to the world as a whole. 

Will the Conservative government have the sense and the stamina to carry out such a task without repeating the same mistakes that Conservatives, Labour and Liberal Democrats made that led to the present status quo?

It is not an easy task with so many interests that want to break apart the United Kingdom. Some of those interests are linked to internal divisions. Others are foreign and rooted in the European Union that fears the rise of Britain as a serious competitor. The old historical divisions have not gone away. In the end, Germany is Germany and France is France and Germany and France happen to be the main drivers of the European Union. When the time comes, what is going to be on the negotiation table is not the interests of the EU but the interests of the main powers within the EU. And as long as this is the case the future of the EU itself will hang in the balance.

Britain is pulled by blocks and geopolitical realities and very often against British interests. Brexit should mean a truly independent Britain with its own set of foreing policies. The Conservative government will be judged because of its successes at national level and because of its actions in the international arena.,

I wonder if the US will put Lord Mandelson on "The List", together with other Russian personalities?

Have you heard Prime Minister David Cameron talk about it? Most probably not. Our Dear Prime Minister, very much in love with Double Standards like the idea of keeping a crook in the Cabinet, would certainly not like to attack a fellow Pro-EU politician like Lord Mandelson.


What happens then when we start talking about sanctions against Russia? Ooops!

Peter Mandelson has refused to defend his links to a Russian defence technology firm.

Lord Mandelson, the former Labour business secretary, faces calls to surrender his directorship at Sistema, a large Russian conglomerate. The post is thought to pay around £200,000 a year plus a share of profits.

Sistema is the majority shareholder in RTI, a defence technology company which produces radars and satellite communications. It has won major Russian state contracts to build a land-based missile early warning system, and provided IT for the Sochi Olympics.

RTI also produced video surveillance equipment for the 2012 presidential elections, which President Putin won amid complaints of fraud.

Lord Mandelson’s work for Sistema continues despite David Cameron putting all British arms exports and military co-operation with Russia under review with a presumption to suspend them, in the wake of the annexation of Crimea.

US refuses to acknowledge legality of UK Referendum on Falkland Islands

A report of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Commons says that "We are disappointed that the US administration fails to give priority to the principle of self-determination in its position on sovereignty of the Falkland Islands".

On the 32nd anniversary of the Argentinian invasion supported by the United States of America that gave the green-light to the Head of the Military Junta of Argentina General Leopoldo Fortunato Galtieri to invade with the proviso that US companies would get oil contracts as soon as Argentina could secure control on the Falkland Islands, the Administration of Kenyan American President Barak Obama supports Argentina's claim.

The Foreign Affairs Committee in a 67-page report says that US plays both ways - yet more proof of US's hypocritical and biased attitude against Britain.

Well, the UK government has little to complain about when they refuse to accept the will of the people of Crimea that massively supported the move for independence and for re-joining Russia.

Mikhail Gorbachev: Promises are Promises

Mikhail Gorbachev was the last Head of State of the Soviet Union but was also the man that opened the way for what many thought was going to be a new relationship between West and East.

Mikhail Gorbachev presided the re-unification of Germany and the withdrawal of Russian troops from Eastern Europe, withdrawal that came with promises made by the United States that NATO would not expand towards the East and promises that were broken by the United States.

Many people celebrated the coming down of the so called Berlin Wall and the Re-Unification of Germany and among them were the Western Leaders that today attack Russian Reunification with the return of Crimea to the Russian Motherland.

Constant interference in Russian Affairs, constant pressure against Russian Interests and the Expansion of NATO towards the East including the idea of installing missiles in the Czech Republic and in Poland have dominated US Foreign Policy towards Russia.

The American Doctrine of Predestination is the equivalent of Mein Kampf, a political ideology that is behind so called Neo-Conservatism in the United States. Wherever the priests of Neo-Conservatism go there is upheaval, either political, military or financial or all at the same time because upheaval is a way of controlling foreign countries to serve the interests of the US Elites that have supported illegal invasion, torture, political assassinations, military and financial aggression and dictatorial regimes, so long as they benefit their particular interests.

Once again, Mikhail Gorbachev appeared as a voice of sanity and celebrated the return of Crimea, a Russian region with more than 200 years of Russian history to the Russian Family in the Russian Federation.

The American Media, accustomed to American Military Aggression, compared the US to the Russian Federation and got things wrong. Perhaps the record of the US in Afghanistan, in Iraq, in Libya, in Egypt, in Syria, across Latin America, in Africa, in Asia (not forgetting Vietnam) and in Asia Minor where the US supported the use of chemical weapons by Saddam Hussein against Iran having previously supported a coup in 1953 against a fledging Democracy in Iran, didn't allow them to see that the Russian Federation behaved in a completely different manner.

In Crimea there were no tanks, no bombardment, no widespread destruction. The transition took place with a Referendum with the participation of more than 85% of the people including every segment of the population and more than 95% agreed that Crimea should be reunited with Russia.


A country like the US, accustomed to use violence instead of reason and peaceful means, could hardly understand that the people in Crimea could decide by themselves in a Referendum. Moreover,  we should mention how the US is run. Election in the US have little to do with Democracy and have very much to do with how much money you have to buy votes using the mass media.
