Keir Starmer vs (John McDonnell, Nigel Farage and Angela Rayner)

 

Keir Starmer was employed to get rid of Jeremy Corbyn. This was his main job. In so doing, he tried to wipe out every one who was seen, openly or under cover) as a supporter of Jeremy Corbyn.

When started moving towards the right, Keir Starmer started creating a void in areas that have been traditionally Labour Party territory.

Keir Stamer won an election telling lies about what Labour was going to do. He made promises and turned promises into slogans. Like George Bush and the famous "read my lips, no more taxes), Keir Starmer proposed auterity on top of austerity. It has been an absolute disaster, given Reform the golden opportunity to make a very successful incursion into Labour´s traditional territory.

Many years ago, the Labour Party turned its back to the British working class and opened the floodgates to mass immigration, bringing in thousands upon thousands to replace the white working class that, left without representation, joined the National Front and the British National Party. Even a London Assembly Member elected to represent the British National Party was a well known Labour Party member that disillusioned with the Labour Party decided to joine the British National Party then led by Nicholas Griffin.

The working classes trusted the British National Party and the British National Party had resounding victories, including the election of local councillors (it was the official opposition in Barking and Dagenham) and had elected members in several local authorities, had a London Assembly Member and had two Members of the European Parliament.

Some years ago, a Conservative Leader, Boris Johnson, won the vote of the working clases in the so called Red Wall. Now, Reform threatens to do exactly the same by taking onboard former Labour Party policies, and this comes after a massive electoral success, having taken over most of the local authorities being disputed in local elections and turning other local authorities into no overall control, several mayoral seats and winning an additional parliamentary seat in Runcorn.

And what is the danger for Keir Starmer. Two factions are threatening his authority from inside the Labour Party. Undoubtedly, although John McDonnell was practically forced to become independent, people who support the line supported by John Mcdonnell can see this as an opportunity to get rid of Keir Starmer. Angela Rayner went all the way to the BBC, appearing in one of the main, if not the main, political programme of the BBC to say that she has no intention to challenge Keir Starmer. She should have added "not yet". 

Foreseen events like strikes in the state education sector, in the NHS and in several areas of the public administration, combined with comings and goings when it comes to economic policies will be fertile ground to cut short Keir Starmer´s Prime Ministerial Career.

Any more faux pas, any more mishaps, any more electoral disasters could be the iceberg that sinks the Titanic. Interesting to see the outcome of the next local elections, including local elections in London, in 2026. 

Rachel Reeves is a key player and her room for maneuver is schrinking in size one day at a time. She herself might decide to throw the towel and this would be an absolute disaster. Labour´s argument is entirely based on the economy and the resignation of the Chancellor of the Exchequer would be undeniable evidence of the total failure of the Labour Administration.    

Keir Starmer will say whatever he thinks you want to hear without actually meaning what he says

 

Keir Starmer's turnaround regarding ULEZ, about tuition fees and about two-children welfare payments tell you everything you want to know. He made promises to Stop Oil to get their financial support and to show certain factions of his own political party that he is truthful about environmental goals, but this is about it.

Keir Starmer is the kind of politician that will make meaningless promises. He will kneel down and tell you that he believes that women have penises and whatever else he thinks is popular only to turn against what he says if he senses that such statements will not bring him votes and his is oblivious to the feelings of segments of his own party that go against his declared official policies. If you need somebody that will take into account the entire country, Keir Starmer is not the man for the job.

As the budget to deal with illegal immigrants rises and rises, he will continue talking about open floodgates because segments of his own party have been indoctrinated to accept what is illegal and pretend that breaking laws and entering the country illegally for the benefit of criminal gangs is perfectly legal and normal. Such lack of consistency is dangerous as it is criminal. If you are a man in charge of enforcing laws and make a political career based on ignoring laws, then you are no different from a career criminal.

The Labour Party has quality politicians like Andy Burham. What the heck is the Labour Party thinking about when it chooses people like Keir Starmer. Things have got to the point when long term Labour supports are being preventing from standing and such is the case of Mayoral Candidate that chose to abandon the Labour Party to stand as independent because the London clique does not want to stand to represent its own constituents.

Andy Burham is consistent and experienced and it has proved it as Mayor of Manchester. Unfortunately, according to the Labour Party rules, Andy Burham cannot stand for Leader because he is not a member of Parliament. 

And what example is Keir Starmer giving to Londoners, when he turned around and accused Sadiq Khan saying that Sadiq Khan's policies lost the Labour Party the election in Uxbridge? Next year, there will be elections for Mayor of London and the London Assembly. Keir Starmer is dividing his own political party, having more political turnarounds than a merry-go-round, making statements about things he does not really believe, and failing to listen to Labour Party supporters. 

 

London Assembly Selection Process: Strong candidate, weak candidate, paper candidate?

 

Next year, the election of the Mayor of London will happen with a new electoral system. The system of first and second preferences has been abandoned and it will be run with a first past the post system. Whoever has most votes will win.

The election of Assembly Members will continue to be run with two systems: one for London Constituencies and another for the London Wide List - still giving other political parties other than the major parties the opportunity to have representatives elected.

During the selection process, due to the present situation in the Conservative Party, it has been reported that the pool of candidates has been limited due to the struggle of allegiances and that it has not been possible to include on the short-list strong gunners for Mayoral Candidate, but merely candidates with very limited public profile and some with no political experience. Some were left with the impression that the war of allegiances has left the Conservative Party without somebody that could really challenge Sadiq Khan. Will something similar happened when it comes to select constituency candidates and londo-wide list candidates?

What happened in these year local elections, could happen again next year in the London Elections. On top of two by-elections caused by political disagreements, we have to add by-elections caused by sexual misconduct.

What do the transport strikes actually mean? 

Transport and communications are the blood of Britain. Without blood circulation the body stops, comes to an end, and this is exactly what is happening right now. After more than 24 months of economic and social activity in lockdown, lack of normal transport is another form of lockdown, but it has even more implications.

For ages, we have heard about protecting the environment by reducing CO2 levels. Well, if people are forced to used their own means of transportation including motor vehicles that consume fossil fuels, will there be more or less CO2? As the number of vehicles on the streets increases, traffic jams increase leading to delays and engines stuck on the streets, going nowhere and producing ever more CO2.

If you say that waiting lists in hospitals are too long, then transport strikes and the direct consequences of transport strikes are going to be ever longer with people having to cancel hospital appointments, delayed medical treatments leading to increase health risks and so forth.

Prices at the shops are rising and will rise even more if transportation costs increase affecting directly distribution of goods across the country.

In conclusion, this is not merely about the jobs and/or salaries of tranport workers. Every single family in the country will be affected by transport strikes in one way or another. The levels of debt are going to go up both in terms of private debt and public debt. Energy must be paid for. Time losses must be paid for and for many the outcome will be lost revenues.

The discusion regarding working conditions and working pensions is reaching the point when working conditions for workers will get worse and everybody will suffer. If the Mayor of London pushed by strikes has to divert funding used to maintain a bus network in the capital city, then working pensions might be protected but bus services will be lost affecting millions of peoples across the capital city. We have already reduced bus services across the capital city and any further reductions of the budget dedicated to bus services will mean loss of services. When future strikes of workers delivering undergound transport services and trains occur, people are going to have even less alternatives to meet their transport needs and the whole city would struggle not to come to a halt.

The London Authority was created to better manage developments in the capital city, added to the authorities that already manage 33 areas of the capital city, being in charge of fundamental projects to improve living conditions in the capital city, but no organisation can function without proper funding and this is what is missing. The added problem is that London is not just a city for Londoners. London is a key element in the economy of the entire country as the Southeast is the region of the United Kingdom that has the most powerful drive in terms of economics. If London comes to a halt, the country will suffer major consequences.

Unemployment in the United Kingdom has been falling steadily. Working conditions have improved although there are certainly some areas that need special attention to prevent economic exploitation that generates serious social problems. The slowdown of economic and social activity will mostly affect the most vulnerable in society. Strikes cannot be a long term solution. If the economy suffers, there will be even less funding for transport, more working hours will be lost, and most probably unemployment will start rising again debilitating the country as a whole.

Reading pages of Hope Not Hate or other pages in Internet referring to what happened to the British National Party, the truth of the matter is that most of what happened to the British National Party has been self-inflicted.

Practically every negative event that led to its fall from grace has been linked to mishandling and bad management of one kind or another.

The organisation came to prominence after winning two seats in the European Parliament on the back of an anti-immigration stance that also led to a Referendum on EU Membership that in 2016, several year later, produced Brexit when the British National Party itself went through a series of scandals, electoral losses and leadership challenges that sent the organisation into the shadows of political activity in the United Kingdom.

Before that, in 2006, the British National Party had won 12 seats in the London Borough of Barking and this was followed in 2008 by the election of Richard Barnbrook as London Assembly Member, setting the tone for what was going to happen during the European Election of 2009.  

After the departure of John Tyndall - former National Front politician - with the arrival of Nick Griffin, for many years the name British National Party was closely associated with its Leader that as a Cambridge University graduate had a taste and talent for mass media. Wherever Nick Griffin went, mass media were not far behind and the organisation was constantly in the public limelight. Nick Griffin made the British National Party a household name and as the popularity of so called mainstream political parties was floundering people who had never even thought about supporting the British National Party voted in rows leading to the election of Nick Griffin and Andrew Brons as Members of the European Parliament. All was well. The organisation has established a foothold in London of all places, in Europe, but the House of Commons remained an elusive target.

Having a Member of the London Assembly, 12 Councillors in Barking and 2 MEPs was impressive but in practical terms it couldn't make much of a difference from a political point of view. The struggle had to continue by means of constant campaigning as little could be done with such a small number of elected representatives. The British National Party could bark from behind the fence but the real game was taking place elsewhere in the hands of so called mainstream political parties. It could have made a difference in financial terms as monies were flowing in and this would have allowed important organisational developments that could have strengthened the British National Party to make it able to win more seats to then become a force to be reckoned with.

Infighting and bad decision making exposed the organisation to ridicule as everybody interested in destroying the British National Party could take advantage of all the mistakes being made. Unity in the European Parliament didn't last. Very soon, there were distinct factions that were at each other's throats and this spread downwards affecting the grassroots of the organisation whose efforts had made possible electoral success. 

Electoral gains based on slogans couldn't last long without serious political hard-work. Central Office sucked the life out of the branches of the organisation that had made success possible and disintegration followed. Some blamed Nick Griffin for all the ills of the organisation but they seldom paid any attention to the fact that far too many people were merely interested in slogans as they had no inclination in getting involved with the laborious workings of politics. For a organisation to remain a meaningful political force it is necessary that after promising the Earth there is some kind of delivery to justify trust in the organisation.

Unavoidably, all electoral success was quickly wiped-out and lessons were not learnt. Infighting continued. Today, the British National Party has invisible Leader (Adam Walker) and invisible Deputy Leader (Clive Jefferson). Its Central Office has been practically dismantled. Local and Regional Organisers have been dismissed or have walked away. The organisation has less than 500 members. Even the man that stood as Candidate in several elections including the 2016 London Assembly Election (Dave Furness) and was also its main speaker in dealings with mass media as Press Officer has been banned from speaking to mass media.

The BNP Leadership - Adam Walker and Clive Jefferson - will be challenged in court accused of financial irregularities and of changing legally protected areas of the party's Constitution but unless the faithful find a Messiah to deliver them from political evil the chances of being able to revive what was a very successful organisation hang in the balance.

With Adam Walker as Leader (a Karate instructor and former military man with no political experience and no mass media experience whatsoever) -  and with Clive Jefferson as Deputy Leader and National Treasurer (a retired engineer of whom two companies were closed down by the Inland Revenue for failure to produce proper accounts), the organisation has no hope in hell of achieving political prominence any time soon.

In spite of all odds, the grassroots made up of members and former members of the British National Party remain hopeful. They are not just praying for a miracle but actively working to turn things around for good in an organisation that is being used by Adam Walker and Clive Jefferson to supplement their incomes using legacies, donations and membership fees to support themselves.
