Democracy? Absolute contempt and stupidity

Thousands upon thousands of his compatriots face extreme situations and struggle to survive. He had a very privileged position and treated Parliament with absolute contempt.

You are not paid more than 80,000 Pound a year plus privileges to sit down in the debating chamber of the House of Commons watching pornography.

Let's be reminded that him and many others like him - men and women - are making life or death decisions on behalf of those who put them in the House of Commons.

Nobody expect them to be role-models, but they should aspire to be role-models given the positions that they occupy.

In Britain, there is a growing democratic deficit accompanied by repressive legislation that limits individual freedoms undermining faith in public institutions. Political stability is about trust. This is not happing in one political party. This is happening across political boundaries and it shows how downgraded the political class has become.

Hundreds of so called Western volunteers including Britons captured in Ukraine and begging to be returned to their homelands

Aiden Aslin and Shaun Pinner

Two so called British warriors who went to Ukraine to kill Ukrainians and Russians were captured and are now begging the British government to take them back to Britain.

These are just two of the many that have been captured in Ukraine, idiots who were brainwashed by American propaganda to get involved in a conflict created by American lies and unfulfilled American promises regarding the expansion of NATO towards the East - President Reagan promised President Gorbachev that NATO would not be expanded towards the East. Today, NATO has not only expanded towards the East. It is now right along the borders of the Russian Federation.

These are the people that Aiden Aslin and Shaun Pinner went out to help. Even the BBC showed pictures like these some years ago, before a propaganda machine was set up to deny their existence because it went against the official agenda promoted by the American State Department. It is very good to remember the fallen in the South Atlantic conflict some 40 years ago. Let's see what kind of people is the American government supporting now in Ukraine, rewriting the history of World War Two.

Rwanda: A culturally enriching experience

For decades, the Labour Party and others have told us that the arrival of people from Africa, the Middle East, Asia and from other parts of the world was 'a culturally enriching experience' and that we in Europe should consider ourselves fortunate for having the privilege of welcoming people from other parts of the world as a way to improve our own lives and living standards.

But... oh, surprise, as soon as the Conservative government reaches an agreement with Rwanda to channel asylum seekers to Rwanda, the Labour Party and others raise their voices saying that 'sending asylum seekers to Rwanda is the ultimate act of cruelty and an example of barbarity'. What has happened? What happened to the enriching experiences they so much talked about? To me, it sounds like the best example of sheer hypocrisy and not only that. The Labour Party's comments against the idea of sending asylum seekers to Rwanda is absolute racism against Rwanda. Rwanda is an African country. And so what? Aren't the Rwandan peoples' entitled to be treated with respect? I am sure that asylum seekers will have a wonderful experience in one of the most developed African countries.

But then again, criticism is coming from a political organisation riddled with anti-Semites. Having changed a leader does not change the fact that anti-Semitism is very much what charaterizes a Labour Party that hates those who have something as long as they are not members or supporters of the Labour Party and this also speaks volumes about the nature of the Labour Party.

Angela Rayner Mp: Finances explained?

Members of Parliament are under scrutiny. Their private finances are under scrutiny. Their private lives are under scrutiny. Some bits of information about Angela Rayner MP have come to light.

On top of an £82,000 MP salary, Angela received in the last twelve months monies claimed as expenses for an amount of £215,000 plus £240,000 as private and Union donations.

When you stand to criticise what other Members of Parliament get for the privilege of being a Member of Parliament, it would nice if you were open about your own finances, about where the monies go and about where the monies come from.

Unternehmen Le Pen: a very canning strategy

Never underestimate the Le Pen family. Read between the lines. Marine Le Pen knew fairly well that much of the French electorate would not support Front National if she were to stick to Monsieur Le Pen approach to politics. So Front National went from Front National to Rassemblement National and started to capture the attention of voters who were more willing to support the new approach.

In the meantime, Marine Le Pen saw that many Front National followers would not approve the changes and something needed to be done. This is where Marion Maréchal-Le Pen (now Marion Maréchal) had a role to play. As Monsieur Le Pen would not be the right card, Eric Zemmour would take the flag with Marion Maréchal at his side and rally all voters that wanted to follow the traditional lines of the Front National because in any case in a first round it would make little difference, but it will matter in the second round and the French Presidential system is about ballotage. Once a nationalist party gets to the second round of the ballotage, all votes can be added up to ensure that there is strong foundation for a nationalist movement at a time when the choice is clear: continuity with Macron or change with Le Pen.

From today, countries that are hostile to the Russian Federation will have to pay for oil and gas with rubbles

From today, countries that are seen as hostile to the Russian Federation will have to pay for oil and gas with rubbles. To that effect, they will have to open an account at a Russian bank that will make the monetary conversion to rubbles in order to continue receiving oil and gas from the Russian Federation.

The measure was not unexpected and it makes perfect sense, proving once more, that measures implemented against the Russian Federation will ultimately backfire and end up damaging the economies of countries that allowed themselves to engage in knee-jerk reactions without having a thought about the potential repercussions.

In Germany, Alternative für Deutschland has raised the alarm as Germany faces a struggle with rising energy prices that rather than reducing dependency on fossil fuels increases dependency on fossil fuel at much higher costs. German coal is a crucially important commodity. Whether it is dirty or non-environmentally friendly is absolutely irrelevant. The country needs energy to avoid an economic disaster.

After Covid, some countries in the so called West are living in a permanent state of emergency. In UK, British authorities have announced reductions of Council Tax for certain families for amounts of up to 150 Pound. The only problem is that the same families because of measures taken by British authourities have seen their expenses rise by several thousands of Pound. Little consolation for those facing the direst situations. The number of those living under the radar keeps growing. Cases of families living in a single room shared with complete strangers are on the rise. The number of those falling below the poverty line kees rising and private debt - as well a public debt- keeps rising.

Rishi Sunak: EU embargo of Russian oil and gas will tip EU into recession

You couldn't make it up. On the one hand, Western politicians try to sound menacing and decisive and after speeches especially made with that purpose comes reality. Just a few days ago, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz raised the alert that such embargoes would seriously undermine the German economy. By extension if market prices go up, inflation will start to speed up in the EU and in the UK. Prices are no determined by particular countries. Prices are global. Only for this reason, there have been approaches to Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela to seek oil and gas production increases.

The Bank of England has just put up the basic interest rate on Thursday this week and announcing increases of interest rates would become the norm rather than the exception in months to come. Taking money away from peoples' pockets will curb consumption and curbing consumption means reduced economic activity. Reduced economic activity in turn means that with less demand many jobs will become redundant and jobs are being made redundant as you read both in terms of public jobs and private jobs. Why did a major ferry operator lay off 800 staff today? Is it because the company expects to have big earnings in the coming months? What about spring and summer when people tend go on vacation? Is it because they expect a reduction or an increase of the number of passengers wanting to travel to and from the continent?

The coming summer season could be a lot hotter and not just because of rising temperatures. Keep checking rising utility bills, travelling fares, fuel at the pumps and grocery bills.

The Fixed-Term Parliaments Act 2011 is said to be coming to an end. This will make the political situation a lot more fluid. But putting aside national elections, let's see what happens to the British economy from now until the May 2022 elections. Ordinary people are living under enormous pressure and such pressure is bound to be stronger if unemployment and inflation suddenly pick up. The combination of the two will be deadly.
