President Trump is just coming to the end of the first period of his second mandate and questions rise about what comes next

It feel that it was only yesterday that we were watching elections in the USA, going into the early hours,  getting to know all the results of the voting journey, getting to know who were going to be the elected representatives - and by representatives I do not mean just the members of the House of Representatives, but all elected officials.

A lot has happened since then and only two years after those elections we live in a completely different world. Without a shadow of a doubt, looking at the history of the world, taking into account all that happened before, for many reasons, this has been a remarkable Presidency. There will be good reasons and there will be bad reasons, given your individual views. I do not think that anybody knew beforehand the sort of realities that we would be facing today.

Now, once again, in a few days time, the world will dramatically change. We do not know the outcome of the Mid-Term elections in the USA. We are once again speculating that for these reasons or for other reasons, the outcome would be this or the outcome would be that.

I am one of those that will be watching what happens on November 8th, 2026. I reckon that many people across the world will be watching these elections and thinking about how their lives will be affected by these elections. Having watched many elections, I reckon that not even those standing as candidates will know what comes next.

In the meantime, I will be watching also other elections. Europe faces now and in the near future very important decision journeys. Latin America and to name one set of elections, Brazil will be deciding before American voters if it wants to give Lula da Silva another Presidential Mandate or if it wants to give Flavio Bolsonaro his first Presidential Mandate. Despite the fact that many of us have become more skeptical regarding democratic processes, nevertheless, we feel that democratic processes do matter.

Despite the fact that many of us face an uphill struggle, we still want to believe that there is hope, that positive solutions are on the way.

Undoubtedly, there will be new faces and perhaps those we see as political heirs will not be political heirs and new faces and perhaps new agendas will arrive.
